To start building our campus and class community, I begrudgingly self disclose. I say that because I'm often in a rush to get to know my colleagues and scholars FIRST. Welp... it doesn't work that way as a teacher, now does it.
You have to become vulnerable and be willing to share yourself, your real self, [believe me, my kiddos can smell a fake from miles away] to begin those relationships that will hopefully surpass an academic calendar year.
